The mission of the Association is to improve the health care and
promote conservation of captive and free-ranging wildlife.
Membership in the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians is by
calendar year. All members receive the Journal of Zoo and Wildlife
Medicine and the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians.

AAZV AIMS
- To advance programs for preventive medicine, husbandry, and
research of veterinary medicine with captive and wild animals
- To provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of
problems related to captive and wild animals
