The Soil Association was founded in 1946 by a group of farmers,
scientists and nutritionists who were concerned about the way our
food was produced. Over 50 years on they have grown in complexity
and scope but at the core remain the fundamental link between
healthy soil, healthy food, healthy people. They are the UK's
leading campaigning and certification organisation for organic
food and farming.Their organic symbol is the UK's most
recognisable trademark for organic produce. Wherever you see it
you can be sure that the food you have purchased has been produced
and processed to strict and rigorous environmental and animal
welfare standards.
