For urgent and highly secure deliveries, we can send your order by courier, airmail, air freight or by an international carrier. Please ask Customer Services if you would like more information or a quote for a particular destination. Please note that for express service someone will need to be present at your address to sign for your package.

The NHBS Shopping Basket cannot calculate the Express Service charge because this price varies. If this option is selected and an order placed, an email will be sent to you by Customer Services detailing the delivery cost and requesting confirmation of your order. Alternatively, if you would like a quote for express delivery before selecting this option please contact Customer Services.

Orders are processed within 1 working day of receipt and we will attempt to dispatch your order as soon as possible thereafter. We hold a huge number of titles in stock so can usually dispatch orders very rapidly. However, some orders will take longer to arrive if the titles are out of stock.

If an out of stock book can be sourced from within the UK, it will usually arrive at our warehouse within a few days. If the supplier is based further afield, the time it takes to source the title increases accordingly. For a delivery time estimate specific to your order, please contact Customer Services.

If a title you require is out of stock, you will be informed of this by email when your order is processed. As soon as your book arrives at our warehouse, it will be dispatched and you will receive a dispatch notification via email or fax. Your credit card will not be charged until the day of dispatch.

Following the dispatch of your order, delivery times are dependent on factors such as your country of residence and shipping method.

Approximate delivery times are as follows:

For standard delivery service:

To the UK: 1-3 days
To Europe: 7-14 days
To the Rest of the World: 14-25 days

For express delivery service:

To the UK Mainland (excludes Scottish Highlands): 1 day
To Europe: 2-6 days
To North America: 2-4 days
To the Rest of the World: 3-10 days

When ordering goods for delivery outside of the European Union, you may be subject to import duties and taxes which are levied once the package reaches your country. Any additional charges for customs clearance is the responsibility of the customer as we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so you should contact your local customs office for further information with regard to your order with NHBS.

If your order hasn’t arrived within the estimated time, contact Customer Services and we will make every effort to locate it for you.

If goods are lost in transit NHBS will make every effort to trace them and will replace them if necessary. Please note that if standard service is used instead of express service for orders abroad we cannot ensure full responsibility for loss of goods. However, insurance can be arranged if required - please state 'insurance requested' when ordering.

All orders are carefully checked and packed by our experienced and professional dispatch team. If you have special packing requirements or experience any problems receiving deliveries, please write them in the 'Comments' field of the checkout or contact Customer Services.
