Returning Items
  • Returning an unwanted DVD/CD/Video or software item
    Audio, DVD, CD, video or software products that have been opened cannot be returned unless faulty.
  • Returning an unwanted item
    Items can be returned to NHBS up to 7 days after receipt of goods in accordance with The Distance Selling Regulations 2000 – no reason to return needs to be given during this period. Please note that this does not include sealed audio, DVD, video or software products that have been opened and are not deemed faulty.

    Please obtain a Returns Authorisation Number (RAN) before returning any item(s) ordered from NHBS. To obtain a RAN, please contact Customer Services giving the following details: customer account number, name and address; item title(s); NHBS delivery reference and date of receipt of goods.
  • Returning a damaged, faulty or incorrect item
    Returns will be authorised for the following reasons:
    a) Goods damaged in transit
    b) Goods judged as defective e.g. production errors
    Where goods are received damaged or judged as defective by the customer NHBS will refund the cost incurred by the customer in returning the item(s).
    c) Goods judged as unsatisfactory e.g. misleading description.

    After receiving a RAN customers may request a free replacement copy or a refund. A refund can be issued as a credit note to use against future orders, or a full cash refund. Where no preference is indicated, a credit will be forwarded to the customer.
  • I am a trade customer and wish to return overstocks
    Bookshops & Trade Customers

    a) Damaged Goods – please see above
    b) Overstocks

    Where NHBS exclusively distributes a title, overstock returns will be authorised up to 12 months from the date of invoice. For titles where NHBS are the non-exclusive distributor, overstocks returns will be judged on a case by case basis. In each instance please begin by contacting NHBS for a Returns Authorisation Number.

    Please note that overstocks returns must be packed well and received in a re-sellable condition. NHBS reserves the right to refuse badly packed returns.
